I was on my way home from a friend's birthday party when I stopped to take these pictures... I'd been listening to Genesis while driving along country roads with the windows down... it had been the first sunny day after a week of rain.

Yesterday evening the Big Man passed away. Never again will a saxophone be played so beautifully.

It's funny how your fields and country roads in Germany look the same as the ones where I'm from in Virginia. Not so different.
ReplyDeleteI like to do this as well, stop anywhere and take a photo of the "moment". I particular like the trail of the clouds in the first photo pointing towards the centre of the image and giving it depth...a touch of "infinity"...DeeBee
ReplyDeleteRachel: Indeed, you're right: This part of Germany has the same climate as Virginia... the summers are long and warm, the winters are long and cold. :-)

I often thought that parts of Europe looked like parts of the US, but then I'd see some house or building and the architecture of it would blow that idea away - thankfully - I really don't want to picture America when I'm in Europe!

The rural parts of Europe do look a lot like some parts of the U.S. indeed. Fortunately, you're right about the architecture, too - over here, houses are built to last. You're not gonna find one house here that could be blown away by a storm.

ReplyDeleteI've been listening to them all day, too. I've also been wondering what's going to happen to the E Street Band... They can't just hire a new saxophone player.
ReplyDeleteIf they're going to continue playing together, and I do hope they will, they should reinvent their sound... Probably rearrange the songs Clarence played saxophone on - it's worked before with the Sessions Band when they played acoustic versions of some classic Springsteen songs.
