Well, all right, it's hot stuff
It's hard to focus but it's clear enough
The weak run, the lost hide
The strong forever hold the flame inside

Excavation site (above) and a cow's hip bone (below).
Lower Saxony, Germany. October 2010.
Within a week, I've been asked if I wanted to take part in excavations somewhere south of Hamburg and in no less a place than Jordan. I declined with thanks. The reason is... I don't plan on quitting my job at the coffee shop. In fact, I've been offered a promotion. I must've made quite an impression on my boss over the last few months. Then again, I'm one of the hardest-working employees, so I deserve it. From May on, I'll be the new number three in the hierarchy. This means I'll put in something between five and ten hours more per week, and this will allow me to save up a lot more money for my big plan for 2013 and 2014, which I'm not going to spill the beans about yet...
Have a nice weekend.

Ooooh, the excavation site looks eerie. It reminds me of the photos I've seen of mass exhumation sites (I know, a bit morbid). It is an interesting place to be when you know exactly where you are going and are able to decline other opportunities if they don't meet the greater good. All of my paths seem to be leading in the right direction lately, I'm pleased.
I like the first shot very much ,and congratulation Mr 3 ;)
Congratulations! Hope your projects go as planned! Good week end!
Congratulations on your promotion! Whatever your plans are, I hope they'll come true:)
Have a great weekend!
As always I love your photos!
By the way, I love Dublin and Ireland, but to be honest with you I've always felt better in the UK.
Thanks very much for all the lovely comments!!!
DeeBee, Joo: Well, as far as my plans are concerned, all I can say at this early a point in the planning phase is that I'll spend a lot of time on the road...
Have an excellent planing and I hope to see your shots in next year!
Congrats.
Thanks very much! Making plans, finding out more about places, drawing routes on maps, doing research on camp sites and hotels - I really enjoy these activities that lead up to the actual trip.
Wow...you do get some interesting offers to travel :) I would look forward to more revelations about the 2013-14 plans...
Siddhartha: The plan is to travel and work abroad... but I haven't decided where I'll be going - both Australia and Canada would be interesting. I've never been to Australia but many of my friends have, and they all loved it, and a friend from England moved there because her boyfriend is Australian. I've been to Canada in 2003 and I've wanted to visit the country again ever since. In addition, I've got two friends in Toronto, and many all over the United States, so I could travel around and meet people in many different cities. Last but not least, the climate in the Pacific Northwest is just perfect. Therefore, Canada would have to be my first choice.
There's a lot of things that need to be considered though... I want to be well-informed before I set out on such an adventure. I'll need to search online for employers with vacant jobs (preferably bars, coffee shops, clubs, pubs). I'll need to open an account with a bank, I'll need to buy a car...
