This wonderful cottage with its perfectly kept garden is located opposite Ham Common. To the right of the house there's a footpath that leads to Ham House, which is another nice place you should visit if you're in the area. National Trust members don't need to pay an entrance fee.
I just got back from a date with Sophie, the girl I made apple pie with last month (making apple pie is my preffered activity for a first date - it's totally innocent, but the girl is at my place anyway, so I just have to go with the flow). We went to one of our favourite restaurants, and after dinner we drove down to the Elbe River to enjoy the sunset - there's a development site from which you've got a magnificent view of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. Before I left to go on the date, I had put two beers in a cool bag and hidden them behind the passenger seat so we could drink them while watching the sunset... she told me it was a romantic thing to do. I've been wooing this girl for two months now and I love how she's not in any hurry.

By the way, went to see The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre yesterday. I had never seen it, I just loved it! (just to share!!)
Looks like a fairytale cottage so different from here which I love. Going back to your comment, I think that's the beauty of a foreigner photographing your country, they see things you don't anymore.
Oh, by the way I don't think it's so bad you haven't seen Venice. It has incredible beauty, but it's hard to get away from the tourists.

I've never seen it either. My favourite play is Faust - seen it twice, once at Richmond Theatre (a modern version; they played Elvis Presley's "Devil In Disguise" when Mephistopheles first appeared) and once as an interactive production by Punchdrunk company (the audience was free to wander around (either to follow the actors or just to explore) - Punchdrunk had built a different stage for every scene; the stages were spread across five stories of a former warehouse - there was a bar in the cellar - I enjoyed this version very much).

I couldn't agree with you more - there's things we're so used to that we hardly notice them.
Venice... I'm really not sure whether I'd want to visit the city. I've been to Florence and Rome - I enjoyed the first but I didn't like the latter at all. What I love about Italy is the food and the landscapes, but I don't like the cities.
I adooooore this picture. I must agree too! when you came to the U.S. you noticed things I take for granted. Makes me want to reopen my eyes and look at things brand new again sometimes!
