April Come She Will

Lauenburg, Germany. March 2010.

"April Come She Will" by Simon & Garfunkel...
I love this song.

I'm not gonna start a discussion about climate change and avalanches, droughts, earth quakes, thunderstorms and tsunamis or, as in this case, floods - I just don't believe it's all our fault.

If there hadn't been a climate change some 10,000 ybp (years before present, that's the term archaeologists use), the last glacial period would've continued to this day. Of course everybody's entitled to their own opinion, so if you do wanna discuss it, use the comment box.

I hope y'all have a great April!

Terrific angle..highlights the clouds and reflections in the water. The shadows are nice as well.
I agree..living on top of one of worlds most active volcano..can you imagine how they contribute to the, uh, global warming?
Before everyone started to get slammed this past year snow:
Scientists have discovered a layer of volcanic ash and glass shards in Antarctica, evidence of an old eruption by a still active volcano that researchers believe may be contributing to the thinning of Antarctic glacial ice. (environmental graffiti)
We are the only state this year where it hasn't snowed yet..Two vents have been spewing consistantly)..the ocean side has just recently slowed down.
Anyway, interesting post.. hope you have a wonderful Easter-

Thanks a lot for the kind words and the input into the discussion :-) I hadn't heard that story about the volcano in Antartica yet... sounds interesting.
Have a wonderful Easter too!

ich bin kein fachmann, kein naturwissenschaftler. es beunruhigt mich aber, dass inseln verschwinden, weil der meeresspiegel ansteigt.
was hinterlassen wir den kindern?

schönes foto ... !!!

Natürlich, aber die Landbrücke zwischen den britischen Inseln und dem europäischen Festland ist ja schon tausende Jahre vor der Industriellen Revolution verschwunden.
Danke!
Frohe Ostern!!!

i agree with you Dom.... the earth has cycled through many climate changes in its past many of which we dont even have the possibilty to properly record because our earth is constantly changing. i still think its dumb for people to waste things and we should still recycle and reuse energy, products, and pretty much ANYTHING we can think of but global warming has just turned into this overrated issue that has become more political than anything.

You're right, recycling and reusing are still important. But smart National Geographic readers like you and me know that there's more to this issue than what humans have done to the planet :-)

My chemistry prof had quite extreme views about this subject and with some I quite agree:
-CO2 is overrated, because it makes up less than 1% of the air (aprox. 75% N and 25% O2) and because the Arctic layer contains quite a lot of CO2, which gets released when the ice melts. So much CO2 is actually the effect of global warming, not the cause

I hope we'll live long enough to see how much truth there is in all this climate change talk :-)
