You Poured Sugar On Me

Title taken from a song co-written by Bob Marley and Johnny Nash (yes, Nash, not Cash!). Thanks to a Polish friend, I am now in the possession of a great recipe for a drink that's just about perfect for summer evenings - take three tablespoons of cane sugar, a tiny bit of imported vodka from Poland, and loads of Sprite. Delicious.

Anyways, there's this little monastery in Lüneburg, and today is such a gorgeous day, so I decided I'd go there and take a couple pictures.

I'm gonna visit the Viking Age settlement of Hedeby in Northern Germany tomorrow. Maybe I'm gonna be back with more pictures soon.

Lüneburg, Germany. April 2010.

There's a land beyond the river
That we call the sweet forever
(taken out of To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee)

Have a nice weekend!

To Kill A Mockingbird was one of the 3 books I actually enjoyed reading in high school. The other two were The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Great photos though! I remember going to a shop in England that looked a lot like the top one. The doorway was so small I had to duck lol.

I love "To Kill A Mockingbird" :-) I didn't read it in high school, but most of the books I read in high school I didn't like either. I liked "The Quiet American" by Graham Greene, "The Catcher In The Rye" by J. D. Salinger, Goethe's "Faust", as well as "Nathan The Wise" by G. E. Lessing, but that's about it. I disliked all the dystopias (as my teacher called them) that we read, like, 1984 and Fahrenheit 451.
What else did you read?

As for the first picture, that's a tiny sort of bridge between two buildings... there's something similar in Oxford, but a lot bigger.
