Sunday Bloody Sunday

Ernst Thälmann.
Berlin, Germany.
May 2010.

Thälmann was the leader of the Communist Party of Germany during the time of the Weimar Republic. Arrested by the Gestapo in 1933, he was held in solitary confinement until being executed in Buchenwald on Hitler's orders in 1944.

And the battle's just begun
There's many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters
Torn apart

(U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday)

Back to the bright side of life... I found two great articles on the National Geographic website today (which I visit daily). Click on the links to find out more:

And because I like to recommend other photographers whose work I enjoy, there's another link for you to click on.

I wanted to take new pictures of old buildings today - it rained too much - I will try again this weekend.

Have a nice weekend.

your blogs sometimes are like discovering treasure :) and almost mapped out too..! one amazing thing leading to another extraordinary thing that compels my curiosity and drives me to learn more and more about something i never knew about... like those caves in Florida? i never knew of such a thing. I've been to that part of Florida before too and although i did know there was a lot of fresh water... caves would have been the last thing i would have ever guessed to be found in Florida lol though, nothing I've ever seen can be compared to the monstrosity of Mammoth Cave in Kentucky :]

Awww Brooke, thank you so much! :-)
Well, I believe I'm interested in things that other people might want to find out about too, so I share them, and I'm glad you're one of them.
One of my goals in life is to never stop learning new things. For example, I'd love to learn some more languages.
As soon as you realise you're not interested in finding out more about the world you live in you should be worried.
It's such a shame that I haven't been to Florida yet.
