Terrence Malick filmed almost an entire movie during magic hour, and it’s one of the most beautiful films ever made. It’s called “Days Of Heaven” and features Richard Gere in his first major role. The soundtrack, composed by Ennio Morricone, is simply brilliant.

Indeed! You get that effect if you set your white balance to Tungsten light. Back in the days, all films were made for Tungsten light because rarely anybody would shoot using only sunlight instead of all the studio lighting equipment.
I agree Dom, that time of night is just plain beautiful. I've only just started to consider the possibilities of photos around dusk. The air is still and if there are no clouds, the sky has an amazing soft blue hue to it. As we're in winter in Australia, photos taken at this time of day seem to capture the chill in the air. :)
You're right... well, go out and try it... it's a lot of fun :-) It allows you to enjoy the beauty of nature more than during day time, because there's less noise, fewer cars, you can hear the nocturnal animals, etc.
Is winter in Australia still warm or does it get cool / cold? Never been over there, I wanna go though!!! :-)
Oo I agree about Australia :) and New Zealand. But this time of day is my favorite as well because all the people go away. Plus my favorite thing ever has the chance to come out and shine: the stars.

Have you ever been to Australia / NZ? You didn't tell me... I've been planning to go to NZ ever since I saw the Lord Of The Rings, and Australia is stunning anyways.

No, I haven't been to the eastern hemisphere :] not yet anyways ;D the only country I've been too outside of the U.S. is England. YET.
